The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering providers for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is alarmed with regard to the higher range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The company position established for intervention experiences a website significant inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it difficult to the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to allow the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
